The Invisible Atomic Monsters From Mars is a future set, intellectual zombie infection movie, written, produced, filmed and edited in just 28 days in February 2010. It sees a space pilot encountering a strange new England that has been over run with blood craving undead after his craft crashes down in a mysterious accident. Meeting up with a group of survovors, he inspires them to make a stand and fight the undead in a bid to get to the coast. This chance encounter with the Neil Armstrong of his time leads the survivors to open up to the horrors of battering those closest to them to a bloody pulp in order to escape, but one survivors secret may just lead to all their deaths....

The University of Baltimore will have a real course on Zombies added to their curriculum.

"This fall, the University of Baltimore is rolling out its new pop culture minor with a course on zombies. The course's instructor, Arnold T. Blumberg, M.A. '96, D.C.D. '04, visiting professor in UB's School of Communication Design and co-author of Zombiemania: 80 Movies to Die For, literally wrote the book on the subject. It's one of only a handful of courses like it in the country."

The Walking Dead Television Series

The Walking Dead comic book series is a pronominal undertaking that has resulted in a powerful character driver Zombie series. Obviously the fans were not the only one to notice this. This fall the great series will see prime time on TV. IGN has a great article with photos on the new series.
